Cross Training Questions

 

I don't know wha to do !!?

I am going to try to go on my school's cross country team this year but I have never done it before. school is starting in like a week and I really want to do this. what do I need to do to get ready for it like training and things like that? Please help me this a HUGE goal of mine that I want to accomplish and it would kill me if I wasn't fit enough or something like that for the team. Please help me I am clueless and don't know what to do. Thank you and God bless. P.S. I have been jogging up my road that I live on every morning ever since I decided that I want to go on the team. Am I doing the right thing? My road is like a quarter mile long. Thanks again!

  1. guess what? i run cross country too, and i just started last year...and it was AWESOME!!! keep training on hills and stuff, and practice running on grass, and try to run at least 2 miles evry day (more if u are in high school)...dont worry, im sure ull be fine...make sure u eat healthy too! keep practicing, and soon enough ull be a star...
  2. You go girl! You can do anything. If you've already made it onto the team, then the way you're preparing already should be just fine.
  3. It's good that you have been jogging up and down your road. If you haven't been increasing your distance, it's a good idea to run another 1/4 mile each day. So if you run 1/4 mile today, run 1/2 mile the next day, and 3/4 mile the next, etc. But don't worry, most people at my school don't even practice before it starts, they just join the team and practice with them. So you actually have an advantage since you've been training. Hope this helps! :)
