  1. sure why not your feet might hurt
  2. No only for cross training, running doesn't apply.
  3. yes you can get some at footlocker i got some there myself and they work great, i've had them for 2 years so i know they're very durable.
  4. My archs are so high running shoes hurt my feet when i use them, i use cross trainers for the arch support .
  5. you can, but if you do long distance it can hurt the joints a little. btw, running shoes are a lot lighter
  6. I don't want to make this sound like a horror story, but it may come off as one. My uncle used to be an avid runner, but never really tried to run more than a 5k or the occasional 10k. He now doesn't run at all, because he tried to use cross trainers for running long distances. It may be because he has extremely high arches (woo family trait), but now his feet and heels are too damaged to do much more than walk.
  7. You can use cross-trainers for short distance runs (1/2 mile to mile) or light jogging. They have more lateral support than running shoes and are designed to move in more than one direction. If you plan longer runs or want to run exclusively, I would suggest running shoes because they're specifically designed for running and will make your stride easier, are much lighter, and offer more cushioning than cross-trainers.
  8. A couch of mine used to say that cross trainers equally suck at all sports. If you are going to invest the time and effort into running, invest $60 and get a real pair of running shoes too.
