Is the calorie counter on exercise machines e.g tredmill, bike , cross trainer etc. accurate
The reason i am asking is because i'm trying to lose weight and whenever i go my brother keeps telling me there is no point becuase they are not accurate and your losing less than you think.E.g if it says you've lost 100 Kcals, its wrong, youve only lost 50 - 60. Is my brother right..are they accurate or not?

- yes
- Sometimes. It depends on which one you have. If they ask for age, weight, BMI, and other information, it'll probably be near the right amount. If it doesn't, it's probably just a rough guess. Hope I helped! :)
- Yeah, they usually over-calculate the number of calories you're burning by quite a bit. For example, the average person burns about 100 calories per mile. Most treadmills usually read more than 100 calories per mile.
