Cross Training Questions

I got blisters on my foot today and I have a CROSS COUNTRY MEET TOMORROW?

OK, so I was stupid enough to run on the track without shoes (I forgot to wear sneakers) and the track was pretty hot. Not long after, my feet began to hurt and I discovered that I'd formed blisters. I have a cross country meet (3.1 miles) TOMORROW??? How can I get rid of these blisters/ the pain as soon as possible? I do NOT want to miss the meet as I've been training for it ALL SUMMER LONG. Please give me any advice!!! I'm really stressed out!!!

  1. This might sound gross. But pop them (use a small steril pin) then put anti-biotic cream on them and put bandaids on them. Change the cream and bandaids every 3-4 hours. It really works :) Hope this helps
  2. Relax. Wrap your feet with thick layers of medical tape. That'll do.
  3. Moleskin patches. Drugstore-dr. Scholls
  4. suck it up and go for it
  5. Wash your hands and the blister with soap and warm water. Swab the blister with iodine or rubbing alcohol. Sterilize a clean, sharp needle by wiping it with rubbing alcohol. Use the needle to puncture the blister. Aim for several spots near the blister's edge. Let the fluid drain, but leave the overlying skin in place. Apply an antibiotic ointment to the blister and cover with a bandage or gauze pad. After several days, use tweezers and scissors sterilized with rubbing alcohol to cut away all the dead skin. Apply more ointment and a bandage.
  6. I would suggest soaking your feet in cold water for as long as you can. That will help to take away the tenderness on your feet. You may want to wrap your feet in gauze tomorrow and put on some thick socks with your tennis shoes. Take tylenol for the pain....I don't think the blisters will go away by tomorrow, but you may be able to get the pain under control.
  7. I bandage my feet and don't walk around on them much when I have blisters. Put neosporin on them, and wear socks if not comfy shoes(like slippers).
  8. well fill a large bowl with ice and really cold water soak feet in the bowl. if that doesnt work SORRY!
  9. Moleskin it's so soft but supportive. it works on most kinds of contact pain in your shoes.
  10. you need to popem neosporin them bandage them and wear tight socks
  11. yea man you'll just have to suck it up... you should watch the movie Joe Prefontaine, he's a true runner!!! its a great movie for all runners to watch
  12. I did the SAME THING 1. soak your feet in warm water 2. use a pin that you've steralized with rubbing alchohol and pop the blister, and squeeze all the fluid out (DO NOT rip the top off of the blister. it makes it 100000000 times worse!) 3. Soak your feet in cool water 4. Apply neosporin and wear clean cotton socks (repeat this process every few hours) 5. about an hour before your meet, take ibuprophin. 6. For your meet, just put bandaids on the blisters, for extra cushioning.
