Any tips on how I can train and condition my body for track before my freshman year of highschool?
In August of this year, I will be entering a new world. Highscool that is! I have always been interested in running track. So thats why I am going to do track in highscool. I've met the co-coach. He's a big and fit guy, kinda scary actually. He looks tough. Just imagine what the coach looks like! My mom wants me to do cross-country. I don't know if I can do that. I mean I pratically fall over when I run through my neighborhood. So any conditioining and training things I could start doing now and then throughout the summer? I need to really work hard before August, because thats when the season starts.

- get your mileage in; start of with short runs (at a steady pace) and extend it to longer runs (at a steady pace)
- run! everywhere and anywhere!
- Welcome to high school .If you are interested in track.Starting out running cross country .It will help you with track. Try to see what kinda workout your coach will want you to do to. I think you should try cross country .I think your coach will understand that your new to cross country. If you can't get a work out from your coach you might start running on your own .You need to go 8 minute warm up .The warm up is a light jog for 8 minutes and then stretching .Having talk to many kids they enjoy cross country .
