which excercise machine is best for me?
I have just joined the gym as I have Polycistic Ovarian Syndrome and struggle to keep weight off. I am 5 ft 5, age 29 and weigh about 11 stone. I am bulky around my middle (v flabby tummy) and need to tone up all over. I have been swimming twice a week. 3 times a week I go in the gym and do a 30 min work out on the treadmill, cross trainer, rowing machine & bike, then do 20 repetitions on the weight machines which tone your legs and arms, then I do 30 sit ups using the ab roller thing. Im not too keen on the bike so prefer to stay on the cross trainer for longer if poss. Does this workout sound ok? Is there anything you would suggest to improve this? Any advice is gratefully recieved!

- sounds ok, you may be able to ask for a fitness programme. if you can do this at your gym they'll put you on track.
- go to
- I would do 20 minutes on each piece of equipment that you like. That will be 60 minutes total cardio. I would also get someone at the gym to design a core strength programme for you as you need to do more than just the ab roller to tone you stomach. If you would like some exercises that work, I can send you some. Also, rather than using the weights machines, use light dumbells for you arms, back and chest while sitting on a stability ball as this will keep your core muscles engaged and help to tone you stomach further.
