sophmore girl, 15 beginner cross country needs good summer training program?

hello, i am a sophmore girl who can no longer play soccer because of an injury. I have gotten the go ahead from my doctors that i should be able to run cross country fine, and i can run just fine. I want to run cross country next year but have NO clue wear to start. How many miles/ how much time do i need to run in order to be able to run about 7-8 miles by the end of the summer? how many miles a week? how much should i start with and when should i increase it? Thank you so much you guys, i'm gonna miss soccer :( oh! and i'm 5' 6 1/2'' and 107 pounds, pretty much bone and muscle

  1. just start out slow, and gradually increase it. Start running 15 minutes a day and increase it 2 to 3 minutes every few days. Just build yourself up slowly and steadily. and stretch a lot too, yoga helps. And do situps/pushups. Those help. Keep hydrated well. and make sure you keep with it. You can lose your work in 2-3 days.

  3. Talk to the XC coach. Usally they have practice during the summer. Well atleast my team does.
