Cross Training Questions

is this enough?

go to the gym three times a week, first i am 27yrs old, 5ft4 and 90lbs, my workout invloves, treadmill for 60 minutes, (16.1km) around 15.5pkm average speed, then 7minutes rowing machine, 5mintues cross trainers, light weights 3sets of 15 reps to tone, and 3-30 crunches on gym ball.. my goal is to get a flatter tummy, and doing all this allows me to eat and hopefully gain weight without feeling guilty, so how many calories do you think this is! shall i keep it up will it help me get a flat tummy, my diet is good...... and i tend to use the treadmill alot as I can only stay at the gym for 2hrs, and I find that the most effective for calorie burn and I can push myself further than the cross trainer or treamill, is that ok .....thanks

  1. no that is not enough if you want to even make any progress you should be eating at least 5000 calories a day and start to lift wights
  2. Yeah Halk is right.. you need to just eat so much. You need peanut butter and nuts and avocados. The treadmill is not so much though go outside you will feel less depressed
  3. If you want a flat tummy you should change your workout and probably add protein to your diet. Don't be mad as you read this. I have a lot of experience in this area. you are anorexic-ly thin and I say this because I am 5'5" and when i was 27 I weighed 104 and I looked like a corpse with boobs so now the productive part of my answer...... switch to an elliptical trainer from the treadmill, less impact and it will work your abdominal muscles when done right. forget about burning calories you need to work on strengthening your core muscles. stop doing the exercises that bulk up your abdominals they will make you loook like you have a tummy use low weights and high reps to get lean long muscles do stretches before and after muscle is more dense than fat so it is smaller. a distended belly is a sign of malnutrition----
