Cross Training Questions

i started going to gym today and i'm not sure how long i should wait between visits. Advice?

I have had advice from the doc to go and do some cardiovascular exercise. I went for the first time today. I did the rowing machine, the bike. the running machine and the cross trainer. My muscles feel sore as i thought they would, Only now i don't know how long to leave it until i go again. i'm really motivated and would like to go tomorrow but i don't know if its too soon. So what do u think/advise?

  1. take it easy to start wit 2 3 times a week then ad a day every week till 5 6 days then ya wont wanna leave.
  2. you can do cardio every day dont work out the same muscle group every day though work them out every other day
  3. wait and see what you feel like tomorrow. if your soreness has not abated any then take the day off and go the following day. if you still feel a little sore but not as bad as today then you can go ahead and go again today. its great that your motivated so keep up the great work! just remember to always listen to your body and don't be afraid to take a day off at least once a week or if you really really need it anytime.
  4. For cardio only then everyday wouldnt be completely wrong. If you want to add weights in there then depends on the goals. For fitness train with weights perhaps 3 times a week if you do a full body program (thats where you train the whole body in one training session), if you want to build then you will have to adapt a program to suit. If you are just sore from cardio then its ok to go again tomorrow for more cardio... if its due to training a particular muscle then let it rest.
  5. You could go tomorrow, but 2 or 3 times a week is about what most people do who go to the gym regularly. Sore muscles are normal after starting, its just them complaining and saying "wtf". You can go tomorrow if your muscles feel like they will survive, or sunday otherwise.
