Cross Training Questions

Questions about gyms and workout?

Right... at Bannatynes they have built in TV's (by technogym or summit) on the running machines, cross trainers, etc. On the side they have a USB socket, s video in socket, and the red/yellow/white sockets. I was wondering, can I get a wire for my iPod Video and plug it into one of these connections and watch my videos on the built in TV's. Also.. about the workout side of gyms. I heard that your body is still working out and burning calories after you have finished for a certain amount of time. How much time? And... say I wanted to burn 200 cals for example. You could run fast for 30min and burn that. But you can also run/jog/walk for an hour and half and burn the same amount. Is it the same thing. Or is one better than the other? Thanks.

  1. ipods to tvs: No idea. Ask the staff maybe? still burning calories: You betcha. You burn calories 24/7 with or without exercise, running your organs and such. You burn extra after weight training (not sure about cardio) for about 36 hours afterwards (given that you're trying hard to build muscle). fast/slow cal burn: 200cal is 200cal. But if you run fast you will be healthier and get better at running (and maybe even build a bit of muscle in your legs) and if you walk you're just walking and it takes longer/is easier to do.
