Cross Training Questions

I need to get healthy, whats the best way?

Since the smoking ban in the uk I have stopped my 30 a day habit which is good. I have also greatly reduced my alcohol intake to only a few pints at the weekend. I have also started going to the gym. Since I started this healthier lifestyle I have put almost a stone on and now weigh 15st. As I am 5fts 10 this makes me considerably over weight. Please can a health expert give me some tips and a schedule to stick to at the gym to help me get fit and lose the extra pounds. I can’t run as yet as my ligaments are too weak to carry my weight because of an RTA years ago. I will be able to though if I lost a few stone and then strengthened them. The gym I am a member of has all the facilities, pool, stair machine, cross trainer, tred mill, free weights, you name it it’s got it. I just need to know what to use, for how long and how often. I could go to the gym everyday either for an hour in the morning before work or after 9pm. All help is greatly appreciated

  1. go to gym at least 4 times a week. cut out all junk food no white bread no eating 3 hours before bed drink lots of water fruit and veg is good eat 5 small meals instead of 3 large meals... also dont eat lots at dinner thats it really... good luck and get healthy
  2. eat more healthy stuff like green beans, apples, bananas, pears and go on a 1200 cal diet and slack off on the potato chips
  3. Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals. Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day. U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry. It is however to be noted that one cannot change the shape or size of different parts of the body.
