Cross Training Questions

What is the best kind of shoe to get if you are on your feet 12+ hrs a day at work?

Walking, Running, Cross-trainer? I work in the healthcare field and am I on my feet pretty much all day for 12+ hr shifts. Any specific brands you have found are better than others??? PS- I'm not looking to spend over $150 !

  1. Clogs. They are cute, and comfortable.
  2. sneaker? do you have to look professional? if not, be like a kid and wear sneakers. very comfortable. i dont know how i would be able to live without them.
  3. The most comfortable sneakers I have ever worn were Curves trainers from Avon, about $35. Can't beat the price.
  4. Z-Coil Shoes are a great brand out of New Mexico that is specifically made for people who are on their feet for long hours. Check them out, they are exactly in the business of what you need.
  5. i would recomend that you buy two pairs and switch them out at work during the day.i would say maybe come clogs so your feet get to breathe and some cross- training shoes for comfort.again,i would switch them out during your work period and hopefully that will help.good luck!
  6. I often spend 12 hours a day on my feet (literally) running a home bakery. I used to go around without shoes because that was my idea of comfort . . . until I got my Crocs. They are not just incontrovertibly and quintessentially comfortable, but if I forget to put them on I notice within seconds and I seek them out. I wear them and find I have no back issues, no fatigue. They're even EZ to keep clean. And the icing on the cake: they are cheap! Cheap enough, certainly, to invest in a pair and give them a spin for a few days. (P.S. I am not a shoe person, and as I reveiw my response it's almost scary how highly I speak of my pair of Crocs and how dependent I've become on them. Perhaps I'll need some kind of a 12-step program if I ever want to walk away from them.)
  7. Whatever you get, pull the old insoles out and put in Dr. Scholls Messaging Gel Insoles. It takes about 5 minutes to get used to them, but they are great. I always get my shoes from Eastbay or their clearance outlet, Final Score. Final Score often has some great clearance prices. They have a huge selection from casual, basketball, cross-trainer, etc. Of course, they make work shoes for nurses and mailmen, etc... Search the web for work shoes for women. Here is a link to a Rockport work shoe for women: http://shopping.yahoo.com/p:Rockport%20APW65097%20Kayla%20Work%20Shoes%20%28women%27s%29:2002983754;_ylc=X3oDMTB0b3VnYm1hBF9TAzk2NjMyOTA3BHNlYwNmZWVkBHNsawNiZ3Qy http://www.eastbay.com/ http://www.final-score.com/
  8. Dansko clogs. They are about 100 bucks, but will last at least a year, and I swear your feet will never hurt. I have tried all sorts of tennis shoes, nurses shoes, cross trainers, etc, and these are the only shoes that I will swear by. Almost all the nurses I work with wear these.
