how do i most effectively use a cross trainer?

I have bought a cross trainer, mainly to lose weight and increase cardio levels. Can I use it every other day? It also has a bike. Can I use the cross trainer one day and the bike the next day?

  1. A bit of cardio everyday is very good for you, I'd start by doing 5 minutes a day, gradually building up to 30 mins a day. If you want to alternate between the cross trainer and the bike to stop yourself getting bored, that would be a good idea. Don't push too hard at first - make yourself work, but don't overdo it.
  2. yeah, any increased excercise and lower calorie intake will help you lose weight.

Hi yes you can use it everday just dont push yourself to hard at the start say do 10 minutes for a week each day and then the next 15 make your way up ,you will feel great have more energy and be happier in yourself ,make sure you warm up and cooldown properly and be sure to drink plenty before during and after exercise go girl xxx
  5. If your intention is to lose some weight with it I suggest you use the cross trainer or bike for 10 - 15 minutes before each meal. You dont have to sweat buckets of flesh, just speed up your metabolism. Alternating between cross and bike is fine, whatever you feel like. The important thing is committing yourself to actually doing the exercise. You need to go fast enough so that you are moderately out of breath, that means, still being able to have a conversation while exercising. Also remember that weight loss is not rocket science. Eat fewer calories than your body needs, then you will lose weight, eat more and the body will store it away. For a woman, the daily intake of calories should not exceed 1600-1900 calories and For men 1800-2200. Drink plenty of water.
