Cross Training Questions

I need help making a workout schedule.?

I using Fit TV which is a personal trainer for my weight training that increases in difficulty every 2 weeks. I also love to run, using a cross training machine, and elliptical. I go to the YMCA which is open Monday- Friday and Saturday (half-day). I like to have one day off. What should be my schedule? My weight training takes approximately 40 minutes and I usually do an hour of cardio. Please use this type of format: Monday: Tuesday: Wednesday: Thursday: Friday: Saturday: Sunday:

  1. What I would do is circuit train.. Monday upper body, Tues. Lower body.. Wed.. cardio and abs Thurs upper body, Fri. Lower body Sat cardio abs and Sunday rest. When I circuit train.. I do back, check, shoulders, triceps and biceps.. Start doing sets of 15-20, My second circuit, increase weight and do sets of 15 reps, third.. sets of 12 etc.. being that your female, you won't add a lot of muscle.. On your lower body day. I do leg press on a hack.. same principle 20, 15, 12, 10 I start with 155 and cap out at 425. I'm 54 and don't feel I need to do 600 lbs. anymore. Leg extension followed by leg curls.. same principle.. sets of 15, 12, 10, 8 then calve raises... Cardio I only walk or do the elliptical(having injured my back and hip running years ago).. I belong to the YMCA too and my diet isn't that strict, but I do cut out fatty meats, sugary carbs and soft drinks.. My only vice is a glass or two of red wine with my dinner. Good luck I weight 180 lbs. and at my age.. I'm ripped.. You have to play it by ear.. Go with your gut and depending on how you feel.. There are days you can go very strong and days you body says.. take it easy.. exercise is for life.. Not until you look or feel good.. Good luck
