Best way to cross-train a friend?

I'm in very good physical shape and a friend who is not in very good shape has asked me to help him get back in shape. I know he can't handle the workouts and aerobic activity I currently do so what are the best methods, excercises, programs, sports, etc. to help him achieve his goals and at the same time not be a total bore to me?

  1. Why don´t you start with just walking? I´m not sure in what shape he is in but sometimes walking in hills and be just enough to start with. (since you don´t want to scare him off.)
  2. Start small, maybe 15 min every day, have him go for short walks first, then slowly start running, Give him easy excercises at first. How did you begin? Lead him through the same process of easy starting excercises that you did at the beginning.Maybe do the same excercises, but have him do like, 5 or 10 repetitions while you do 40 or 50.
  3. if he's paying you then take the easy money and have him do some jumping jacks, a few squats, then run around the block 4 times.
