Cross Training Questions

Can someone give me a good cross country training program??

I am just starting high school in the fall and I want to try out for the varsity cross country team. I need to be able to run a 5k I guess easily by August 13. I try to run at least 3-4 times a week but in the past I have only run a mile at a time. I also live on a 75 acre farm, so I can do hills. If someon could give me a great training program, I would really appreciate it. Please i need a good training program and im just looking for a little help. And jobees, ur answer isn't what im looking for lol. To david, nice answer. I'll try it out. To david, nice answer. I'll try it out.

  1. Bring some african animals to your farm and let them loose. and then run around away from them.
  2. The best way to have a successful cross country season is to build an edurance base over the summer. You do not have to do anything other than easy miles. If you are not currently running, start running 3 to 4 days a week, 20 minutes each run. Your goal should be build 5 to 6 days a week and able to run 40 to 60 minutes a run. If you are not a runner you may have to start with a run/walk program. If you can already run 20 minutes at an easy pace then you can focus on building up miles. 3. Training programs are different based on the people that are using them. However, practice makes perfect. The more you run, the longer you can run w/o stopping. Push yourself but don't go overboard. If you can deal w/ the pain and keep going you can hurt yourself. But, that doesn't mean stop everytime you feel a little pain. No pain, no gain. Run a few times a week and try to get a feel for where your limits are. Try running a little bit more every day. Good luck running and have fun!
  4. I think run make people hurt and tire. It better not to run.
