  1. Waterpolo is a sport played in the water, involving 6 players and one goalkeeper. The object is basically to get a ball into the other team's net. It is very physical, almost a mixture between swimming, handball, and a little wrestling. I would expect it to be very good for endurance, especially for the legs which must tread water throughout the game. For more information about the rules, you can go to wikipedia and search waterpolo.
  2. its kind of like hocky played in a swimming pool. opposing teams try to throw a ball into nets on either side of the pool. and you're not allowed to touch the bottom of the pool, players have to swim the entire time. its GREAT cross training, because the swimming will really build your endurance, and its relatively low impact.
  3. Water polo is like soccer in the ater except you use your arms and hands to throw the ball. It's a very good exercise and great from those who need to cross-train in running. The best way is to use a pool where your feet don't touch the bottom of the pool, but if you can't find one you will still get a great workout. I run marathons and I find that swimming/biking and water polo are great cross training to keep my legs from over training or to recover from an injury.
  4. This is good cross-training... although, like football, there is a good bit of standing around. Traditional swimming is a much better Idea.
