Cross Training Questions

Can anyone name a good shoe manufacturer?

I'll be needing an all-weather running or cross training shoes. When I mean all-weather I do mean like it's water proof, mudproof, dust proof and etc, while giving me the support of a running/cross training soles.

  1. I use Mizuno Wave Riders, the newest edition. They're excellent shoes, at least their women's shoes are. I don't know anything about their mens' shoes. But I do know that edition to edition, the Wave Riders have barely changed, which is a definate indicator of a good quality shoe.
  2. It sounds like you're looking for a waterproof, trail running shoe. The North Face, Salomon, Ecco, Montrail, and Vasque all make trail runners. Find the one that fits your foot the best and replace them after 6 months or 300-500 miles.
  3. Can't go past a good pair of Dunlops..
  4. ASICS has a line of trail running shoes that would be good for that.
  5. There's lots of good brands. I'm not sure what your foot type is so I can't recommend a specific shoe. Here's a list of trail shoes: http://www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs/mensshoes/mensshoesrunning/?SearchHandle=Rz02MzReMl4xNDQ4XjJ_ST1Tb3J0VklQUHJpY2V_Sz00fkw9MX5NPTN_Tj0zfg&Action=5&PageSize=99
