Cross Training Questions

Your opinion on cross training shoes...Nike vs New Balance?

Public Comments

  1. Nike, better quality.
  2. I usually wear New Balance running shoes, but I've had better luck with Nike cross-trainers.
  3. They're both great quality, so I'd say pick the design you like, and try on the individual pairs, because some are wider at the toes, and some have seams inside that pinch your feet. I think Nike has a younger image, though.
  4. New Balance. In my opinion, stick with companies that are primarily running companies such as New Balance, Saucony, Brooks, Asics, etc. Their shoes seem to have a longer life and are likewise worn by seasoned runners and vets alike. While it seems like Nikes are good shoes (because of huge advertising compared to NB, Asics, etc.), I find that they simply don't measure up to other shoes. Now, if you're planning on doing some light running and won't get very into it, you can wear Nikes. But if you're going to run a lot, more than 15miles a week, I'd get better shoes. I recommend the Asics Gel-Cumulous or 2110s. And for Gods sake, do not go by looks.
  5. it depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If you are trying to train for a sports season and if you are just running are totally different and there different kinds of cross training shoes but nike all the way!!!
