Cross Training Questions

What is a good running shoe for a cross country race, not training. racing. What about there not like spikes but there not regular training shoes?

  1. Sounds like you are asking for either a road racing "flat" or an indoor track non-spike. I'd recommend the Nike Women's Jana Star XC II Cross-Country Running Shoe, rubber soled. It actually gives you the best of both worlds - spike and non-spike. If you are on mostly grass, go to the 1/4" spikes. If it's a very hard surface, take out the spikes and screw in the "plugs" that come with it.
  2. ur talking about xc flats. nike are very good. also the saucony kilkenny, which is what i race in, is excellent. nike and the kilenny run about $40 and last about 3 xc seasons.
  3. I think your referring to flats, they're light but give you support. To find them you would probably have to go to a running store...b/c many sporting good stores dont carry them.
  4. what you're looking for is a "racing flat" its about 1/3 the weight of a normal shoe and they're really nice actually, any specialty store should have them
