These are extra credit questions for my math class, me and my friends came up with answers but we want to be?

sure its right, cuz the teacher only gives one chance. 1.The manager of a Payless shoe store is checking the receipts for the previous week's sales. a total of 28 pairs of cross training shoes were sold. one style sold for $70 and the other sold for $90. the total recaipts were $2220. how many of each type were sold? 2. An airplane flying against the wind travels 1600 miles in 8 hours from city A to city B. on the return flight to city A, the plane travels with the wind half the time. Find the speed of the plane and the speed of the air.

First of all, when did Payless shoes ever sell a shoe that cost as much as 70 bucks! hahaha Let x= number shoes sold for 70 let 28-x=number of shoes sold for 90 x(70) + (28-x)(90) = 2220 70x+2520 - 90x = 2220 -20x + 2520 = 2220 -20x = -300 x= 15 15 pairs of $70 shoes 13 pairs of $90 shoes -------------- I'm not helping you with the other becuase I just don't want to. It's too much work... meanwhile, I've done half your extra credit for you. :o)
4. #1 is as follows: 15 pairs @ $70 = 1050 13 pairs @ $90 = 1170 1050 + 1170 = 2220
