Cross Training?
Hi, I'm in a Cross Training class at school, we do a combination run-walk every class (every other day) about 4 times around the track(which is a mile) I didn't do any sort of exersize the past two summers, and I didn't take gym last year, so I'm out of shape, and my back and my whole left leg ache to the point of feeling like their on fire after every run(normally the next morning as well) is there any way to reduce this(like shoes or a style of running?) and is there a streatch I can do afterwards to help with my back? it's right above my right hip, near the center of my back and it hurts so much. :( Please help!

- steady breathing - very important hand crossover - keep them straight shoulders relaxed - make sure its only ur arms that r moving stretching: uh... just do like flamingoes or butterflies getting all of this down is pretty annoying but if u really stick to it for a few weeks, it'll become 2nd nature
- It could be your shoes. If you can get to a shoe store that specializes in running shoes, they are better at looking at your running form and recommending a shoe for you. Fleet Feet is a chain of stores around the country, but there are many store owned and worked in by runners. They can watch the the way your foot and ankle react when they land and decide if you need a motion control or stability shoe. If the right shoes don't improve the condition, then it might be sciatica. Read the link below. Take an ibuprofen every four hours for pain and see a doctor for a professional diagnosis. If it is sciatica, keep exercising. Studies have shown that people improve faster by staying active than they did with bed rest.
