Which type of shoes perform better in kickball? Running or cross training shoes? There are actual kickball leagues all over the united states. So I was wondering which type of shoes works best while playing kickball. I believe that cross training shoes works the better. Cause the tip of the cross training shoes is half running type but yet can get a could aim at kicking the ball then running shoes.
What are cross training shoes? i am a volleyball player and am on a team. i have training camp week after next and since we will be doing agility training, weight lifting, and actual volleyball we were told to wear "cross training" shoes. and i have no idea what those are. any help?
What are cross-training shoes used for? I mainly lift weights (3-4 days/wk) and run occasionally, so would cross-trainers work best for me rather than, for example, running shoes? I'm asking b/c I've had my eye on a nice pair of Nike cross-trainers. Thanks in advance!
Best cross training shoe that is not expensive for hurting calves? When I run on the treadmill, my calves kill me after running 15-20 minutes. Im thinking its the shoe so I am looking for a good shoe that will give me that support so my calves wont hurt. Suggestions? A specific Model and Brand? Ive been running for 5-6 years (gym), but here and there my calves hurt. I was thinking it was my form but also the shoe. Im not a big guy (5'8, 160), but I think your right it's my running form. I tend to take long stride as to short strides. Maybe that can be assisting in my calves hurting. Im not old either (at least I think im not: 27?). I have the same running shoes for 2 years and maybe is time to replace them. They are in good shape though.
Training shoes vs Cross country flats in a Cross Country race? Running Junior High Level, 2.5 mile xcountry races. How much of a difference will wearing xcountry flats make over wearing my training sneaks? *I'm a beginner, but I am in the top 8 in my division & have a very real potential to qualify for the JOs in December.
Cross training shoes? I need cross training shoes I can wear to run, go to the gym, and do other fitness things. What shoes should I get?

Can I wear cross training shoes for tennis AND running? I run track for my high school. Can I use cross training shoes for practicing? BTW, I have a flat foot and I overpronate. Can I also use these shoes for tennis? I've never played it before, but I'm joining my school's team. Practice starts in a week and a half. And I tend to get shin splints often because I never get the right shoes for my foot type. The guys at the chain sporting goods stores don't really know anything. I don't want to get the shoes online. Help.
I need a good pair of cross training tennis shoes.? I like to go for walks, but if my shoes don't have the right support I get shooting pains in my shins that make it impossible to walk. Anyone know of a great pair of shoes that will help. I've tried New Balance and Adidas and they don't help.
what kind of athletic shoes works best in the GYM??? What kind of athletic shoes work best in the gym? I am looking for an athletic shoe that you WON'T slip in the gym (like the basketball court in the gym at school). I have an ASICS running shoes, that makes me slip, i want shoes that have grip like Basketball shoes. but i'm not looking for basketball shoes, because I play Badminton, and I need shoes that are not high top(like basketball) and Lightweighted. Does cross training shoes work in the gym??? I know, i should just get badminton shoes, but i am trying to save some money. Thanks. solerole, i couldn't find much on that, so i couldn't find the type of shoes i was looking for. And I do not want basketball shoe looks, and they wouldn't be appropriate for badminton... BUT THANKS ANYWAY :]
How do I choose the best athletic shoe? I go to the gym 3-4 times a week and walk (3.5-4.5 miles) right now (mainly gravel and dirt roads, rain or shine, some early morning icing in the winter), but hope to begin a walk/run program soon. I have heard cross- training shoes are not good for running, and that running shoes are not recommended for distance walking. Is there one type of shoe that would fit all my needs, or perhaps it would be best to buy two pair of shoes?
Cross Country Shoes? I run cross country and my coach has already adivsed me that my shoes are crap. Does anyone know any websites where I can get cross country training shoes for practice and cross country flats for races?
Aside from color or style, is there any actual difference between men's and women's running/cross train shoes? I know that there is a size difference as well. Don't know what it is, but know that there is one. I just didn't know if they actually made them different in any other way. So if a guy wears a woman's shoe, he will notice a difference as far as more space around the ball of his foot, so the shoe may slide, but the heel is tighter... but a girl wearing a guy's shoe will have a little more room in the heel, but it will be tighter on the ball of her feet?
recommendation for cross country running shoes? this's my 2nd year doing cross country, and i haven;t found shoes that really fit me. I went to shoe store and ask for help, but really they don;t help that much. I'm trying to find shoes train for racing. do any body have a good experience with cross country shoes? are the shoes the lighter the better?
What is a good shoe for walking and jogging? Before I started bought these new shoes to walk in, I was wearing my everyday/work tennis shoes which are K-Swiss and Reebok (nothing special) and they were okay. Well I bought some New Balance 601 Cross-training shoes and now my shins are sore and start hurting after a while. Why is this? Could I be breaking the show in are do I need a different kind of shoe. Please give recommendations and be nice. Thanks in advance!! Sorry, I meant before I started walking...
Can anyone name a good shoe manufacturer? I'll be needing an all-weather running or cross training shoes. When I mean all-weather I do mean like it's water proof, mudproof, dust proof and etc, while giving me the support of a running/cross training soles.
Why do my feet hurt when I do plyo exercises and running? I wear cross training shoes and I have am flat footed, when I work out, I often have to take breaks because of foot pain. Would I need to buy a padding for the shoe, like Dr Scholls, or should I buy a decent pair of running shoes?
How does an auto mechanic dress? I decided about a year ago to dress like the "avid outdoorsman" I am. So I threw away all my jeans and Macy*s clothes and have worn only zip-off nylon pants, cross training shoes, Teva sandals, button up rayon or polyester shirts, and nylon t-shirts. I look like I just got back or am just leaving on a hike ALL THE TIME. Now, I'm beginning to pursue my passion for auto mechanics, though I still love backpacking, and wonder if I can combine the two or I'll have to dress completely differently? I don't want to be some sort of Nascar type, I'm not interested in auto racing. More about small 4X4's like CJ7 and Scout 800, classic cruisers like the '64 Lincoln Continental, and making good use of Japanese cars. Of course I know you need more than the right clothes to be an auto mechanic and builder. But the scope of this question is limited to just that specific area, please. Rogodogo, are you saying you don't like auto mechanics for some reason, and they're all lazy or drunks and don't like their jobs? Please enlighten me, since I don't drink and don't plan to be lazy.

What type of shoes to wear for cross-country? So I'm doing cross country in the fall right now i have regular training nikes but can i use these in races too? Can I use these for the whole season or am I going to need to buy spikes or flats?
pain in the balls of my feet? I recently started a walking regimen. I walk about 4 miles every other day. Since, I have started this I have been experiencing pains in the balls of my feet. I feel as if I am walking on a rock. I wear a new pair of Nike cross training shoes when I am out walking. So, I don't believe that it has anything to do with the shoes.
Which one do you think is better? I'm trying to find a good pair of cross-training shoes. And I'm stuck between two pairs of shoes; the new under armour evade and livestrong nike's. Which is better?
Cross Training? Hi, I'm in a Cross Training class at school, we do a combination run-walk every class (every other day) about 4 times around the track(which is a mile) I didn't do any sort of exersize the past two summers, and I didn't take gym last year, so I'm out of shape, and my back and my whole left leg ache to the point of feeling like their on fire after every run(normally the next morning as well) is there any way to reduce this(like shoes or a style of running?) and is there a streatch I can do afterwards to help with my back? it's right above my right hip, near the center of my back and it hurts so much. :( Please help!
About Shoes.? There are many styles of shoes out there but i want to know wich is the most popular such as skate shoes vs. cross training so if you have the time, leave you fav shoe.
Training Shoes? Im looking for a good pair of cross-trainers and wondered what everybody else uses.
blisters on the bottom of my feet from running? i have just switched over from track to cross country training. The shoes i have are too wide and my foot slips some when i run. This along with cross country terrain is forming blisters on the ball of my feet. I am getting new shoes that fit better but they had to order my size and it will be a couple of weeks. Does anyone have any suggestions what i should do in the mean time besides not running. I am already using the band aid blister block. Also is doubling up on socks a good or bad idea?
Sore knees from Jogging? I finally started jogging after a year of psyching myself up for it. I am on a program where I run and walk, gradually increasing the running portion over 8 weeks untill I can jog a couple of miles. I really enjoy it and want to continue but my knees are starting to hurt pretty bad. I'm using an old pair of Addida cross training shoes that I bought about 2 years ago. I plan to buy a nice pair of running or cross training shoes this week. Will that help? If not, what do I need to do? I hope to continue jogging because I can do it virtually anywhere, anytime and IT'S FREE!!! I should note that I'm 36 and until now I've had almost no consistent cardio training in my life.
These are extra credit questions for my math class, me and my friends came up with answers but we want to be? sure its right, cuz the teacher only gives one chance. 1.The manager of a Payless shoe store is checking the receipts for the previous week's sales. a total of 28 pairs of cross training shoes were sold. one style sold for $70 and the other sold for $90. the total recaipts were $2220. how many of each type were sold? 2. An airplane flying against the wind travels 1600 miles in 8 hours from city A to city B. on the return flight to city A, the plane travels with the wind half the time. Find the speed of the plane and the speed of the air.

I have a huge red bump on my arch that i cant even touch, the pain is making me sick to my stomach. Should i wear my spikes to practice?? at my old school we were only allowed to wear our spikes (or flats) to meets.. our coach said we'd be used to our big cross training shoes and would go much faster at the meets if that was the only time we wore our spikes. but the coach at my new school recommends wearing them any day we have a speed work out...even tho he hasnt given a good reason why some ppl will wear their spikes to practice..but take the actual spikes out any suggestions?? kk thanks guys.. i tried wearin my spikes to practice for a few days and they did make my legs a lil tight, so you were right. ill jus keep wearin my clunky trainers to practice so i can smash at meets lol. thanks!!
How Did We Ever Survive???? THE GOOD OLD DAYS My Mom used to cut chicken, chop eggs and spread Mayo on the same cutting board with the same knife and no bleach, but we didn't get food poisoning. My Mom used to defrost hamburger on the counter AND I used to eat a bite raw sometimes, too. Our school sandwiches were wrapped in wax paper, in a brown paper bag, not in icepack coolers, but I can't remember anybody getting e.coli. Almost all of us would have rather gone swimming in the lake instead of a pristine pool (talk about boring), no beach closures then. The term cell phone would have conjured up a phone in a jail cell, and a pager was the school PA system. We all took gym, not PE... And risked permanent injury with a pair of high top Ked's (only worn in gym) instead of having cross-training athletic shoes with air cushion soles and built-in light reflectors. I can't recall any injuries but they must have happened, because they tell us how much safer we are now.... Flunking gym was not an option... Even for stupid kids! I guess PE must be much harder than gym. Speaking of school, we all said prayers and sang the National Anthem, and staying in detention after school caught all sorts of negative attention. We must have had horribly damaged psyches. What an archaic health system we had then. Remember school nurses? Ours wore a hat and everything, and she could even give you an aspirin for a headache or fever. I thought that I was supposed to accomplish something before I was allowed to be proud of myself. I just can't recall how bored we were without computers, Play Station, Nintendo, X-box or 270 digital TV cable stations. Oh yeah..and where was the Benadryl and sterilization kit when I got that bee sting? I could have been killed! We played 'king of the hill' on piles of gravel left on vacant construction sites, and when we got hurt, Mom pulled out the 48-cent bottle of Mercurochrome (kids liked it better because it didn't sting like iodine did) and then we got our butt spanked! Now it's a trip to the emergency room, followed by a 10-day dose of a $49 bottle of antibiotics, and then Mom calls the attorney to sue the contractor for leaving a horribly vicious pile of gravel where it was such a threat. We didn't act up at the neighbor's house either, because if we did, we got our butt spanked there, and then we got butt spanked again when we got home. I recall Donny Reynolds from next door coming over and doing his tricks on the front stoop, just before he fell off. Little did his Mom know that she could have owned our house? Instead, she picked him up and swatted him for being such a goof. It was a neighborhood run amuck. To top it off, not a single person I knew had ever been told that they were from a "dysfunctional family". How could we possibly have known that we needed to get into group therapy and anger management classes? We were obviously so duped by so many societal ills, that we didn't even notice that the entire country wasn't taking Prozac! How did we ever survive?

How DID We Survive? Looking back, it's hard to believe that we've lived this long... As children we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pickup truck on a warm day was always a special treat. Our baby cribs were painted with bright colored lead based paint. We often chewed on the crib, ingesting the paint. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, locks on doors or cabinets, and when we rode our bikes we had no helmets. We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle. We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. We played dodge ball and sometimes the ball would really hurt! We played with toy guns, cowboys and Indians, army, cops robbers, and used our fingers to simulate guns when the toy ones or the BB gun was not available. We ate cupcakes, bread and butter, and drank sugar soda, but we were never overweight; we were always outside playing. Some students weren't as smart as others or didn't work hard so they failed a grade and were held back to repeat the same grade. That generation produced some of the greatest risk-takers and problem solvers. We had the freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all. Almost all of us would have rather gone swimming in the lake instead of a pool, the term cell phone would have conjured up a phone in a jail cell, and a pager was the school PA system. We all took gym, not PE... and risked permanent injury with a pair of high top Ked's (only worn in gym) instead of having cross-training athletic shoes with air cushion soles and built in light reflectors. I can't recall any injuries but they must have happened because they tell us how much safer we are now. Every year, someone taught the whole school a lesson by running in the halls with leather soles on linoleum tile and hitting the wet spot. How much better off would we be today if we only knew we could have sued the school system. Speaking of school, we all said prayers and the pledge (amazing we aren't all brain dead from that), and staying in detention after school caught all sorts of negative attention for about the next two weeks. Schools didn't offer 14 year olds an abortion or condoms (we wouldn't have known what either was anyway) but they did give us a couple of baby aspirin and cough syrup if we started getting the sniffles. What an archaic health system we had then. Remember school nurses? Ours wore a hat and everything. I just can't recall how bored we were without Computers, PlayStation, Nintendo, or Cable TV. I must be repressing that memory as I try to rationalize through the denial of the dangers could have befallen us as we trekked off each day about a mile down the road to some guy's vacant 20, built forts out of branches and pieces of plywood, made trails, and fought over who got to be the Lone Ranger. What was that property owner thinking, letting us play on that lot? He should have been locked up for not putting up a fence around the property, complete with a self-closing gate and an infrared intruder alarm. Oh yeah... and where was the Benadryl and sterilization kit when I got that bee sting? I could have been killed! We played king of the hill on piles of gravel left on vacant construction sites and when we got hurt, mom pulled out the 48 cent bottle of mercurochrome and then we got butt-whooped. We didn't act up at the neighbor's house either because if we did, we got butt-whooped there too... and then we got butt-whooped again when we got home. Mom invited the door to door salesman inside for coffee. Our music had to be left inside when we went out to play and I am sure that I nearly exhausted my imagination a couple of times when we went on two week vacations. I should probably sue the folks now for the danger they put us in when we all slept in campgrounds in the family tent. Can anyone recommend a specialty athletic shoe store in NYC that helps you select the proper shoe? I don't mean walking into your nearest New Balance dealer and having them help you pick out a shoe through trial and error. I'm thinking specifically a kind of store that will analyze your gait, take into consideration any physical needs (such as a bad knee), as well as what you'd be using the shoe for (cross training vs running on a track, for example.) I used to live in Boston and they had a store like this. They actually videotaped your feet on a treadmill in order to analyze your way of walking and what shoe would be best for your gait and activity. Any suggestions??? I should add that I am looking for a shoe that is VERY supportive (I often have hip and lower back pain) and can be used for running/jogging and all gym activity.
What is my ideal Running Shoes? [see details]? I have slightly flat feet; and it must be good on hard surfaces (tarmaced roads) and preferably light in weight and "airy" (I get "foot-claustrophobic") ... I don't do sport and I started running again after many years .. with my current pair (basic nike cross training) my knees hurt...
please answer? What is a good running shoe for a cross country race, not training. racing. What about there not like spikes but there not regular training shoes?
Need New Running Shoes? Please read details!? I recently started cross country summer training, and my feet have been hurting from it. I got new shoes at the beginning of June and ran in them, but a few weeks after summer training started, I had problems such as my feet being covered in peely blisters and bloody toenails. Does this mean that I need new/different running shoes? Or does it have nothing to do with the shoe, just my feet?
First time running a 10k: tips, info on shoes, recommendations?? I'm 18 and I'm going to run a 10k with my dad in the end of April/begining of May. Any tips or recommendations would be helpful, I'm a first time runner (I ran track for a couple years, but have since gotten busy and out of shape) I've started training and eating stricter, and I have no doubts that I'll be ready for it, but any advice would be great. The biggest thing is I would like to know like what kinds/brands of shoes would be good, I have a pair of Adidas now, but I don't remember what kind they are I think they're just cross-trainers. Reviews? Shoes to buy/stay away from? And what about sports bras? I'm well endowed and need some good ones...Thanks!
Walking shoes vs. Running shoes? Today, I just bought a pair of New Balance walking shoes. They are really cute and I really want to keep them. But the thing is, I am using them to train for cross country. Do you reccomend them for cc? Plus, I am on a limited budget 20-25 dollars for good brand name running shoes. The ones that I bought were 20 and thats a very good price.Any advice is welcome! Thanks!
